About
The College of Agriculture, Environment, and Nutrition Sciences, Food and Agriculture Scholars Program recruits, mentors, and trains undergraduate students pursuing studies in food and agriculture sciences. The scholarship encourages outstanding students to pursue and complete baccalaureate degrees in food and agricultural sciences and related areas that will lead to a highly skilled food and agricultural systems workforce.
The program is open to high school students and college transfer students who demonstrate competence and commitment to pursue careers in food and agriculture and provides funding which can be applied to:
- Tuition & Fees
- Room & Board
Eligibility requirements:
In order to be eligible for the scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:
- Be a U.S. citizen;
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or better;
- Be currently enrolled as a full-time student ( which is defined by being registered for a minimum of 12 hours on a semester basis, in courses outlined in the respective program of study, and approved by the student's academic advisor) in a CAENS academic major at Tuskegee University.
In addition to the above criteria, the following application documents are required:
- Privacy Act Advisory Statement and Release Form
- FAFSA Acknowledgement
- Biographical Questionnaire
- Current Resume
- Current official or unofficial transcript
- SAT/ACT scores
- 500–800-word essay describing the applicant’s interest and intent to pursue a career in the
food and agricultural sciences or related fields - Two letters of recommendation from a high school counselor or teacher/professor
- Signed and dated application
